Genesis [Bereshit]

Genesis [Bereshit]

Mankind has its dawn.
Mankind will meet its dusk.
Beyond it all eternity.

As I begin this journey, I want to remind you that God loves you deeply and is always willing to hold your hand through every season of life. I have experienced his mercy countless times, even when I drifted away from my purpose – he never was far. Each time, he stood with open arms, ready to welcome me back into his love, a love that completely surrounds and restores. It’s a love so selfless that, at times, I’ve felt unworthy to receive it. A love that acts as a mirror — tender yet honest — revealing the very things within me that are not pleasing to the Lord.

My heart’s desire is to reveal a different side of God — one that is tender, patient, and full of grace. As we walk through Genesis and reflect on the journey of becoming, may you be reminded that it’s never too late to turn back, realign, and embrace a new beginning with God.

The word Genesis originates from the Greek language, meaning birth, origin or beginning. Its root stems from the Greek verb “Ginomai”, meaning “to become” or “to come into being”. In Hebrew, it translates as “In the beginning”.

There Is profound wisdom in understanding one’s foundation. Yet too often, we inherit religious customs that confine rather than enlighten. Minds enslaved by tradition instead of discovering the true essence of God – trading freedom for bondage, truth for deception, and victory for defeat.

I know what it feels like to chase after God’s hand more than His heart — to be caught between pursuing my own desires and surrendering to His will. The lure of worldly happiness can often pull us away from the path of godly living. I’ve found myself in a pattern of seeking God only in moments of need, forgetting to maintain intimacy in all seasons. It was only when those comforts were taken away that I realized my greatest need had always been His presence.”

Genesis – the journey of becoming.
Eden – the place we consciously and systematically drifted from, yet the place we are called to return to.

Genesis 1:26-29
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [g]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that [h]moves on the earth.”

29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is [i]life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So, the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

God created you in his image, a spiritual being and when he looked at you, he declared, “Indeed, it was very good”. You were born out of love, designed to live in love. For God is love, and God is good. We distanced ourselves from the imputed goodness when we strayed away from his original plan for mankind. You choose evil, each time you walk away from God’s will.  It is a sobering thought, yet it carries truth – a truth that invites us to return to his perfect design.

The enemy’s goal is to convince you that you are not who God created you to be. The true battlefield lies in your mind. When you lack understanding of your identity and what must be surrendered for you to grow, it becomes easier to believe those lies. Just like a newborn transition from infancy to childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, life is a journey of becoming. Each stage demands growth.

Genesis is the journey of our foundation — the path to becoming who we were created to be. It’s time to stand up, examine what’s been built into your foundation, and remove whatever is keeping you from God’s original intent. Whether you’re burdened by the choices of your forefathers or wrestling with your own missteps, there is hope. Don’t let fear keep you from rising. Partner with God, take action, and build a foundation that reflects His truth. Your obedience today will echo through generations.

If your foundation needs repair, trust that God, in His mercy, will intervene. God has proven over time that He only needs one willing heart to fulfill His purpose — just as He did with Noah and Moses. God’s refining process may sometimes feel like punishment, yet it is always rooted in His deep love and desire to shape you for His perfect plan. Returning to Eden means to obtain the ultimate status of holiness and righteousness. A lifelong journey of becoming more like Christ. This journey is about surrender, obedience and trust. You have the opportunity to pause, reflect, and begin anew — embracing the path that leads you closer to Him.

Never be afraid to submit yourself to his process. Let God rebuild you so you can stand on a firm foundation. It is a daily submission, at times very painful yet so rewarding. To lose it all, is to gain it all.

Remember, you are devoted to a God who exists beyond time — He is not bound by it, He created it, and yet He transcends it. God will not contend with us endlessly; He does not force His will upon anyone. If we resist Him, He may choose to move on. May this never be your story.

As 2025 is still in its birthing stage, I encourage you to partner with the Holy Spirit, fast and pray. Ask the Lord to reveal the wickedness that has operated in your bloodline over generations and its consequences you may be suffering. Plead for mercy and rededicate your ways back to him so you can bear good fruit and set your lineage free.

Whom the son sets free, is free indeed.
